| Personal Details Work Sought: Geoff is keen to take on writing engagements, particularly short plays and sketches (he claims to be very cheap indeed!) and he is also aiming to branch out into TV and Radio work. | Theatrical Experience/Training Geoff is relatively new to the scene and had never appeared on stage nor written a stage play until four years ago. However, since then, he has won two annual Best Performer Awards and one annual Best Supporting Performer Award together with numerous nominations. His first play, 'More Tea Vicar' was nominated for a comedy award and his subsequent festival plays have all received nominations. His futuristic satire 'God Bless America' won “The Best New Play”Award in this year's Spelthorne & Runnymede Drama Festival, in addition to being nominated for Best Comedy and Best Stage Presentation, with one performer winning a special Adjudicator's Award and another performer being nominated for Best Youth Performer. Jan Palmer-Seyer, G.O.D.A. described the play as “Very, very, funny and very witty. It had us laughing throughout”. In addition to this, Geoff has had three plays accepted for the national finals of very short play festivals with the Daffodil Theatre Awards describing his comedy 'The Human Button' as “A clever idea, setting and original concept which was well written and enjoyable to watch. We felt the comedy was light, fun and very Monty Python. It was a favourite. Overall, it was very, very good”.
Geoff loves to make an impact and aims to provide sharp, innovative, entertainment that is fun to watch and fun to perform in.
Geoff has also written, and produced, dramas and sketches for church groups and fund-raisers, with great success. He has often been pleasantly surprised at just how receptive church audiences are to a bit of naughtiness and innuendo! |
