Personal Details

Claire has been involved in amateur dramatics since she was at school, but only started writing since retiring from teaching. Before that she wrote short scripts for primary school plays which stood her in good stead when writing for her local drama group.

“A Christmas Carol” was written for this group which then had a preponderance of females wanting to act. It offers opportunities for groups to exploit the particular talents of different performers, and is easy to stage.

Claire has also written several fully scripted murder mystery plays which have been performed all over the UK. They are set in modern day village life and include the sort of characters we all love to hate! There are breaks in the action for supper, bar, raffle and for the audience to interrogate the suspects and guess who-dun-it. There are several endings to choose from.
