| Theatrical Experience/Training A full-time lecturer, Chris initially became involved with college drama productions for lighting and sound and was soon drawn into supporting local amateur groups. Observing productions develop and closely following performances (as lighting, sound or both) is a rigorous learning experience in plot, character, dialogue and the dramatic techniques of master playwrights. Although an established technical author, Chris started writing for the stage in the early nineties. His first play was staged in 1994 and highly complementary comments from adjudicators and the warm reaction of a live audience include ‘… a playwright of considerable stature… beautifully drawn characters and splendid variation in emotional attack… the pace of the dialogue is quite breathtaking… delightful… beautiful comic…. A highly successful ending… a fine piece of theatre…’

· Second in the Bognor Regis Playwriting Competition (1999) performed April 2000
· Second in the Cornwall Drama Association Playwriting Competition (1998)
· Finalist in Somerset Fellowship of Drama Playwriting Competition (1994) best script 2000
· Productions performed in the Somerset County Drama Festival (1996 & 1998) winning the Lydia Durston Trophy for Endeavour.
